Job Summary

Responsible for serving as a liaison between Account Executives, the Graphics Department and the Editorial Staff.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as point of contact and ensure effective communication/outcomes for inquiries/work product between Account Executives, Graphics Department and Editorial Staff.
    • Collect, update and clarify job orders from Account Executives.
    • Collect, enter as needed and confirm ad contracts into Magazine Manager; file hard copies of contracts.
    • Communicate and collect all outstanding materials from Account Executives per deadlines.
    • Tally magazine ad counts, must run editorials and special section editorials.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of social media for the timely and accurate sharing of information.
  • Coordinate and manage e-blast schedules.
  • Maintain paperwork and inventory of giveaways and oversee fulfillment.
  • Serve as point of contact and ensure effective communication/outcomes for inquiries/work product between Publisher and Editorial Staff.
    • Edit press releases and editorial submissions as necessary.
    • Schedule and coordinate photo shoots.
    • Assign and manage assignments to freelance writers.
    • Manage reservations for value-added editorial opportunities.
    • Manage editorial sponsorships insuring inclusion in the appropriate books and manage paperwork.
    • Proofread magazine prior to submitting to Publisher for final proofing.
  • Proofread magazine prior to submitting to Publisher for final proofing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including administrative, editorial support and event coordination.
  • Work within budget and scheduling requirements.

Educational and Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of related professional publication experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of office computer, production and graphic systems and technology including Magazine Manager and Constant Contact directly related to the job function.
  • Ability to work independently collaborating with other staff to conceptualize, create, edit and complete production.
  • Ability to communicate and respond to questions in a professional and knowledgeable manner; multi-task and remain detailed and organized; maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must perform job in a safe manner and ensure a safe workplace.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise level. This job requires occasional meetings off site with the employee providing their own transportation. This job occasionally requires the employee to stand; walk; sit; use hands; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; read; talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The employee should never attempt to lift more than 25 pounds.

 Hours

Work schedule is Monday to Friday; 9 am to 5 pm; lunch 30 minutes.

 


 

Job Title  – Account Executive

 

Responsible for independently identifying leads and establishing on-going client relationships producing sales and client retention in direct support of the publication’s mission, goals and strategies.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop annual individual / organizational strategic sales plan in coordination with Publisher(s) and Owner/Executive Publisher.
• Identify and execute new business opportunities resulting in increased sales and revenue.
• Ensure existing business segment growth and service maintaining the targeted retention rate and sales goals.
• Resolve internal / external customer issues in a prompt and professional manner.
• Submit ad materials in an organized and timely fashion to the Graphics Department.
• Maintain accounts in Magazine Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational and Skills Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of related sales / business development experience.
• Proficient in the use of office computer system related to job duties.
• Ability to work independently setting and achieving sales goals; excellent presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate and respond to questions in a professional and knowledgeable manner; multi-task and remain detailed and organized; maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Must perform job in a safe manner and ensure a safe workplace.
• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

Position is commission based.
